Floyd

Male · Young · 1 year

Could you be my perfect match? Hello! My name is I can live with Dogs Cats Children MY story Floyd has been with us some time. A few weeks after he arrived it became very clear he has some problems with his back legs. After X-rays we discovered he had hip dysplasia. We then had to wait for Floyd to finish growing before we were referred to a specialist in London. After many scans and more X-rays it became apparent his hip dysplasia was inoperable. There were just to many things going against the surgery being a success. So we made the decision not to operate and make Floyd’s life as comfortable as we could for as long as we can.Part of this was hydrotherapy. Which we can honestly say has changed his life. He has spent months building up the muscles to take over where his hip joints fail. He has gone from multiple pain medication to medication free and charging around like there is nothing wrong now. We need a very special understanding family to adopt Floyd. We are prepared to cover any medical costs related to Floyd’s hips and continue to pay for his weekly hydrotherapy which is in Deal. We will offer lifetime support to make sure Floyd has the best care we can give. Floyd is such a sweet and loving dog but he is nervous so it will take time for him to trust and love you. He has come so far from the nervous puppy that arrived. Floyd is crate trained and completely house clean. He loves a paddling pool and naps on the sofa. He is a big clumsy giant who we absolutely adore! MY PERFECT HOME Floyd will need a secure garden with 6ft fencing minimum and no gaps at all.As with all dogs on going training will be needed.Floyd can live with dogs, cats and children 12+ OUR ADOPTION PROCESS 1 Fill in application form Please fill in the form as honestly as possible. About Floyd

What life with Floyd looks like

Floyd is a large young adult dog waiting at Angels 4 Dogs Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Floyd, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Floyd?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Angels 4 Dogs Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Floyd on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Floyd if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Angels 4 Dogs Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Floyd already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Floyd isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Angels 4 Dogs Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Floyd and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
