Fluorek

Male · Adult · 6 years

Fluorek - a dog that would be better suited to the name Comma. That's exactly who he is. Not an exclamation mark. Not a question mark. Definitely a comma. He stops, observes, ponders, and only then decides whether to take the next step. Fluorek is about 6 years old, weighs 7 kg, and was brought to Paluch by the Municipal Police. We don't know what his life was like before, but looking at his condition, it can be assumed that it wasn't easy. He was heavily neglected and clearly emaciated. He still needs to be neutered and some time to regain his good form. At first, Fluorek can be very firm. He warns strangers with barking and snapping. He doesn't do this because he thinks he rules the world. Rather, because the world hasn't given him reasons to trust him for a long time. Fortunately, it's enough to take him for a walk. After a few minutes, the tension clearly subsides. Fluorek starts checking smells, looking around, and slowly allows a person to enter his world. He lets himself be petted, although he doesn't actively seek contact. Unless the volunteer has treats in his pocket. Then it suddenly turns out that cooperation with people has some advantages. He is calm on walks and doesn't pay much attention to other dogs. Much more difficult for him are passing strangers. He is still afraid of them, and he can express his fear by trying to grab the calves. That's why we don't recommend him for a home with small children at this time and we are looking for a caregiver who understands that a dog's trust is built with patience, not haste. We are convinced that Fluorek has not yet said his last word. We will work on his self-confidence and his relationship with humans. We are looking for a home that will not expect a ready-made dog, but will want to participate in this change. And commas, as you know, are there to make a pause. Not to end the story. And we very much hope that Fluorek's best chapter is yet to come. You can also find Fluorek and the rest of the group 6 on: Facebook - Instagram - TikTok

PL·Show original

Fluorek - pies, który bardziej pasowałby do imienia Przecinek. Bo właśnie taki jest. Nie wykrzyknik. Nie wielokropek. Zdecydowanie przecinek. About Fluorek

What life with Fluorek looks like

Fluorek is a small adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fluorek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fluorek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fluorek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fluorek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fluorek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fluorek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fluorek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
