How do I contact the shelter about Fonsi?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fonsi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Fonsi if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Fonsi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Fonsi isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fonsi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Fonsi

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Fonsi is a cool dachshund who seems to have read his breed description carefully. The approximately one-year-old dachshund mix originally comes from Romania and has only been at Teddy Farms for a few days. At about 25 cm shoulder height and around seven kilograms, he is compact and stands out with his beautiful color. Fonsi brings a lot of what you would expect from a dachshund - and some things you should be prepared for. He is confident, open to people and knows exactly what he wants. He is also hunting motivated and has a good dose of stubbornness. Patience, on the other hand, is not necessarily one of his strongest talents. Fonsi is not a dog who just goes along with everything. He wants to be understood and needs people who give him friendly, clear and consistent guidance. At the same time, he is a lively and interesting little fellow who should provide entertainment with his character. We are looking for a home for Fonsi without small children, where his people enjoy a strong-willed dachshund and are willing to work with him on the issues that a young dog still brings. After a successful pre-check and the assumption of a deposit, Fonsi moves to his new home neutered, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, dewormed and with an EU pet passport. If you would like to get to know Fonsi and can imagine becoming a real team with him, we look forward to your inquiry! Thank you Katrin! You gave Fonsi his name! Status: 17.09.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Katrin! Du hast Fonsi seinen Namen geschenkt! About Fonsi

What life with Fonsi looks like

Fonsi is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
