Fox

Mixed Breed · Male

Fox has had to go through a lot of bad things in his life. He is a dog who is still very afraid of people and avoids contact. From the first days at the animal shelter, it was clear how much fear he carried inside. Every, even the smallest progress, is a big success for him. Today we can already say that he is taking small steps forward — Fox does not react with aggression, does not bite and is beginning to observe people. Once he didn't even want to look in our direction, but now he is slowly learning that the presence of people doesn't have to mean anything bad. He still can't walk on a leash. Our "walks" are currently just sitting quietly in the park, gentle petting and getting used to closeness. This is a huge effort and work for him. Fox however loves the presence of other dogs — they give him courage and joy. With them, he feels more confident and takes the next steps bravely. This is an extremely touching dog with sadness and fear in his eyes, who needs a patient, calm home and a person with a big heart. Who will give Fox a chance to believe that life can be good?

PL·Show original

About Fox

What life with Fox looks like

Fox is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Czekadełko in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Czekadełko handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Czekadełko will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Czekadełko early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
