Adopt Francy

Unknown · Young · 2 years

Update 09.05.2026 Just one week at the foster home and there is already an update from Francy. It's immediately obvious that the lovely cat once had a home, because already on day two she was lying on the sofa and knew exactly that it is a great place to be when living with people. The foster mother can also confirm that Francy is happy with any kind of attention without being intrusive. Whether cuddling, playing or being photographed - the beautiful tortoiseshell cat enjoys all of it. Overall, she is a very relaxed cat that has not been disturbed in any way so far. Arriving after a long transport in a new environment? Francy simply calmly steps out of the box and explores everything. Being hissed at by the other cat at the foster home? Francy just moves aside. The next stress test is coming up in the next few days: How will Francy react to dogs? Her behavior with other cats currently indicates that Francy is also totally relaxed here. She plays with the other cat, but it also seems as if she doesn't necessarily need feline company to be happy. Her favorite hobby is definitely playing. She can spend a long time and certainly alone with ball games. Overall, her foster mother describes her as a quiet roommate. The transition to high-quality wet food has already been successful in the short time and Francys fur is getting softer and smoother. The funny little Francy fits perfectly into your family? Then contact me quickly! Update 02.05.2026 The simply lovable Francy was very lucky and got to travel to a foster home in Kiel. There she was immediately curious and had no fear of leaving her box.

About Francy

What life with Francy looks like

Francy is a large young adult cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Francy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Francy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Francy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Francy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Francy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Francy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Francy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
