Franek

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Franek is a small, approximately 10-year-old dog who was found on the street. When he arrived at the shelter, he had bald patches on his back and needed medical treatment. Today, he’s slowly recovering and looks better with each passing week. He’s an exceptionally cheerful dog who greets people with a smile. Although he’s no longer an active athlete, he loves calm walks at his own pace—walks during which he can explore the world and enjoy the company of humans. He walks nicely on a leash and calmly passes other dogs on walks without seeking out conflicts. We’re looking for a home for him—one that will love him just as he is: a calm, mature, and grateful dog. Adopting a senior dog is a special decision. It’s important to remember that health issues and associated costs may arise with age, but in return, you’ll receive priceless canine love. Franek deserves to spend his remaining years not in a shelter, but on his own bed, by the side of a loving human companion. He’s vaccinated and will be neutered before adoption. His registry number is 245/26. For adoption inquiries, please contact: 512 282 853 (Mon-Fri).

PL·Show original

Franek to nieduży, około 10-letni psiak, który został znaleziony na ulicy. Gdy trafił do Schroniska, miał wyłysienia na grzbiecie i wymagał leczenia. Dziś powoli dochodzi do siebie i z każdym tygodniem wygląda coraz lepiej. Adopcja seniora to wyjątkowa decyzja. Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 512 282 853 (pn-pt ).

About Franek

What life with Franek looks like

Franek is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Franek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Franek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Franek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Franek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Franek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Franek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Franek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
