Frankie

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

An intelligent, striking boy who needs a confident handler to help him unlock his full potential. Meet Frankie, a 7-month-old Bearded Collie cross Border Collie who is on the lookout for a very specific forever home. Frankie is a young, bright lad who has unfortunately had a bit of a tricky start when it comes to learning the rules of the world. Due to very poor training advice early on in his puppyhood, Frankie has learned that he is entirely in charge and can do whatever he pleases. He is not an easy dog right now, and he is going to be a bit of a handful initially. However, we know that in the right, experienced hands, he is going to make an absolutely awesome companion. Frankie is a handsome Bearded Collie and Border Collie mix who has all the intelligence and drive you would expect from his breeding. Because he missed out on the correct guidance as a young puppy, he now needs an experienced, confident owner who can put the basics firmly back in place and kindly but clearly show him what is acceptable and what isn't. To give Frankie the absolute best chance at success, Hay Animal Rescue Team will fund ongoing support/ training for him with Malvern Fabdogs. It is essential that his new owners are fully committed to using positive training methods to rebuild his boundaries. Because of this tailored support, his new family will need to live within a two-hour drive of Malvern so they can easily attend these sessions.

About Frankie

What life with Frankie looks like

Frankie is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hay Animal Rescue Team in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frankie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frankie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hay Animal Rescue Team handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frankie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frankie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hay Animal Rescue Team will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frankie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frankie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hay Animal Rescue Team early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frankie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
