Frankie

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I'm Frankie. I'm a few years old and I'm rather a small dog, one to snuggle with... although I don't always have the courage yet. I ended up at the animal shelter on February 14, 2026 - someone threw me out of a car by the stable. They said there were some conversations, agreements, it was supposed to be better... I was supposed to return to my person or find a new home. Unfortunately, everything went quiet. The phone went silent, people disappeared, and I'm still here. And I'm waiting. I'm a dog who needs time. I won't trust immediately, I won't approach wagging my tail right away. I lack some confidence, I'm a bit scared, but if someone gives me a chance and patience - I really want to open up. I want to feel safe. With other dogs it's different. I have my "chosen ones" that I accept, but there are also those to whom I can clearly say "no". That's why it's important to get to know me well and not rush anything. In my kennel I keep it clean - I try to be polite and orderly. I'm vaccinated, dewormed, chipped and neutered, so I'm ready for a new chapter. Maybe I'll find what I've been waiting for all along? Peace, patience and a heart that won't let me down. I'm waiting.

Cześć, jestem Frankie.Mam kilka lat i jestem raczej małym psiakiem, takim do przytulenia… choć jeszcze nie zawsze mam na to odwagę. Trafiłem do schroniska 14 lutego 2026 roku – ktoś wyrzucił mnie z samochodu pod stajnią. Podobno były jakieś rozmowy, ustalenia, miało być lepiej… miałem wrócić do swojego człowieka albo znaleźć nowy dom. Niestety, wszystko ucichło. Telefon zamilkł, ludzie zniknęli, a ja nadal tu jestem. I czekam. Czekam.

About Frankie

What life with Frankie looks like

Frankie is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frankie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frankie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frankie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frankie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frankie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frankie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frankie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
