Franzi

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Little Franzi is a lovable, friendly female dog who, at about 43 cm at the shoulder and roughly 15 kg, is a pleasant medium size. She was born on 21.11.2023 and is still at the very beginning of her life. Franzi is initially a little cautious and reserved around people. Once she has gained trust, she shows herself to be a gentle and affectionate companion. She gets along well with other dogs and behaves in a compatible way. Our Franzi is waiting for people who will show her how beautiful a sheltered dog's life can be. We are looking for a loving foster home or a permanent home for her, where she can settle in at her own pace. People with empathy, who give her security and guidance, will find in her a loyal friend for life. We do not know whether Franzi has experience of living in a house. Given her friendly nature, we expect that with the necessary patience she will settle well into a home. Franzi is ready to leave her past behind and finally get to know the security of a family of her own. Who will give Franzi the chance of a loving home? Franzi is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-adoption check. Departure possible every Friday! General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can continually reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly in giving the best possible picture of each individual dog. However, we would like to point out that a dog may show itself differently in a new environment, with new people, new routines, and new impressions. This is entirely normal and part of any process of change. Many dogs open up even faster at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee of any behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide guidance and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter, and what potential lies within it. We are convinced that with patience, understanding, and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and continue to develop positively.

About Franzi

What life with Franzi looks like

Franzi is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Franzi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Franzi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Franzi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Franzi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Franzi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Franzi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Franzi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
