adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this dog now! Freddi, today named Blue, is an approximately 2.5-year-old mixed-breed male dog seeking stability and a permanent place in a home. He is not a dog who rushes up to anyone without reservation; his past has made him cautious and taught him to defend himself. Therefore, he needs people with experience, patience, and understanding who are willing to see him for who he is and work with him on his challenges. Freddi does not give his affection immediately. He does not belong to the dogs who rush forward wagging their tails at the greeting. Instead, he keeps a distance and observes closely before approaching. But if given time and his space respected, eventually his curiosity wins out. Then he comes on his own, seeks proximity, and shows a sensitive, vulnerable core that deeply touches. He is a clever dog who loves to learn and eagerly takes on new tasks. At the same time, his past has left its mark: he defends resources clearly and resolves conflicts by going on the offensive. Up until now, he had to manage much on his own—now he needs people who can teach him step by step to take responsibility and to trust. The muzzle is an important companion for Freddi. For Freddi, it is not a stress factor but a tool that gives him security. He wears it problem-free and relaxed. Topics like brushing, setting dishes, holding, or other necessary actions must be worked out together with him, and currently, this is only possible with the muzzle. Anyone who wants to get to know Freddi should be aware that this path requires time, calm, and clear structures. For his future home, we wish for a quiet, rural environment without children, cats, or small animals. Ideally, this would be a single person or a couple with dog experience who receives little visitors and is ready to take in a dog who needs special support. For those who decide to take Freddi into their home, you will not get a "ready-made" dog but the chance for a deep connection. Because when he gains trust, he brings impressive loyalty and shows how much he longs for a person where he can finally arrive. Freddi is vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and has an EU pet passport. He is only available after a positive Freddi has been named by Toni! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Freddi

What life with Freddi looks like

Freddi is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
