Adopt Freddy

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Freddy, puppy, male dog neutered, born 03/2025 - looking for his forever home - with heart, mind and a garden! May I introduce? Freddy, puppy (12 kg in September 25) from the animal shelter with a heart full of hope and a gaze that goes straight into the soul. Freddy is a real rough diamond: playful, sensitive, curious - and ready to discover life by the side of his own family. Freddy was found as a puppy by animal protectors and then came to a foster home of our shelter ASIPA in Romania. There he lives with other dogs. Much has already been learned at the foster home and now he is looking for a loving home where he can experience safety, structure and security. Freddy wishes for a quiet, rural home - ideally with a garden - with people who have experience with dogs and will patiently guide him to everything new. Small children should not live in the household, because Freddy needs time to build trust and develop at his own pace. Freddy will be a medium-sized dog and still needs to learn not to be too boisterous with his energy and joy. He brings everything a loyal companion needs: intelligence and the willingness to go through thick and thin with humans. Whoever adopts Freddy will not get a "finished" dog - but a friend for life who will blossom more every day. Freddy is developmentally appropriate. He already shows a social, compatible nature with other dogs and would possibly also appreciate a confident only dog. Freddy is NOT cat-friendly! He doesn't know the basics of dog training yet - but he will learn it enthusiastically with you by his side! Why you should contact us now: Animal protection means responsibility - and the decision for a young dog like Freddy is not a short-term one. But if you are ready to give a dog a chance, you will be rewarded with a loyal companion who will enrich your life. You are not looking for a perfect dog, but one that touches your heart? Then you have found him. Our dogs are fully vaccinated (basic immunized), treated preventively against parasites and microchipped. They travel to Germany with pedigree documents and EU pet passport. For great happiness, all that is missing is a loving family that gives them a home, love and security. About Freddy

What life with Freddy looks like

Freddy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
