Frederike

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

Frederike – gentle tigress with a big cat heart Lovely Frederike, born around 2024, is a brown tabby female cat who came to us at the animal shelter as a stray. She is an outdoor cat and is happiest where, after a settling-in period, she can explore the world outside. Frederike is still a little shy, preferring to watch from a safe distance first – but she has a big heart for her fellow animals: she adores other cats and is friendly and sociable with them. A cat already in the home or a feline buddy would therefore be a real gift for her. For Frederike, we wish for a calm, patient home where she is given the time to build trust. Sensitive people will discover in her a loving companion who doesn’t ask for attention loudly, but offers quiet closeness. Whoever gives Frederike this chance will have a gentle soul with tiger stripes by their side.&;&; If you are seriously interested, we will gladly arrange a meet-and-greet at .

About Frederike

What life with Frederike looks like

Frederike is a large young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frederike, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frederike?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frederike on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frederike if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frederike already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frederike isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frederike and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
