Frenkie

Male · Adult · 3 years

We would like to draw your attention to Frenkie. Frenkie is a sweet 3-year-old tomcat. He came to us because he was unfortunately given up due to an allergy in his previous home. Therefore, we are looking for a new, suitable home for this sweet boy. Frenkie is a friendly boy with a nice character. He may need some time to get used to his new environment, but when he feels comfortable, he shows more of his sweet and affectionate side. He likes to be close to his people and enjoys the coziness around him. He likes to chat with you and likes to be close to you. This handsome tomcat is looking for a quiet spot where he can be himself and where he can take all the time he needs to feel at home. A house with a garden where he can go outside to get a fresh breeze after getting used to it would be ideal for him. Then he would like to snuggle up with you to enjoy the peace and attention together. We are looking for a home for Frenkie where he gets the attention and love he deserves. A place without other pets would be best. Older children could be suitable, as long as they respect his boundaries and give him the rest when he needs it. Are you interested in this sweet boy? Then please contact us quickly!

About Frenkie

What life with Frenkie looks like

Frenkie is a adult cat waiting at Dierenasiel Utrecht in Utrecht.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frenkie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frenkie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Utrecht handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frenkie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frenkie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Utrecht will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frenkie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frenkie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Utrecht early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frenkie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
