Frido

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Frido has already found his luck! His story: May we introduce? Frido, a little Malteser-Mix-boy, who immediately touches the heart with his soft fur, dark button eyes, and delicate nature. He was taken in by animal rescuer Meda – what his life was like before, we do not know. But one thing is clear: this little treasure deserves a second chance. Frido shows himself in the foster home as a friendly, very people-oriented puppy. He loves closeness, enjoys every form of attention, and actively seeks the connection to his people. At the same time, he is a playful, curious young puppy who wants to discover the world and makes small progress every day. With his about 4 months, Frido is in the discovery phase, and puberty comes faster than one thinks. This means: He still has to learn everything a young puppy needs for life – from house training over leash training to everyday rules, routines, and relaxed alone time. Frido learns quickly, however, when given loving guidance. A positively working dog training class would be a great start for him to build security, gain new trust, and keep his clever head busy. Frido is a typical little fluff ball: cheerful, clingy, sensitive, and full of love. He will feel most comfortable in a home that gives him warmth, affection, and clear, gentle guidance. People who patiently show him the world, cuddle with him a lot, and help him become a confident little companion. Whether a solo prince or part of a pack – Frido will fit in well, as he shows friendly social behavior and lives problem-free with other dogs. Cats have not been tested yet, but due to his size and gentle character, a slow adaptation would be conceivable. Frido is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings his EU pet passport and is allowed to enter after a positive. A heartfelt thank you goes to Petra, who not only gave this sweet guy his name but also hope. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Frido

What life with Frido looks like

Frido is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frido, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frido?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frido on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frido if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frido already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frido isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frido and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
