Frieda

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 10 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Frieda is an approximately ten-month-old female dog with a current shoulder height of about 50 cm. She came to Germany from Romania at four months old and currently lives together with another female dog in Braunschweig. In everyday life, she is well-mannered: Frieda already knows basic commands, walks reliably on a leash, and is absolutely unproblematic in the handling of fellow animals. Character-wise, she is a very sensitive and cautious young female dog who initially reacts fearfully to strangers and new situations. However, once she has developed trust and finds herself in a familiar environment, she shows her cheerful, lively side and enjoys walks very much. For Frieda, it is particularly important to have a confident only dog she can orient herself to, as she greatly benefits from the security of a dog-experienced partner. A loving home with a lot of patience, empathy, and clear structure is sought for her, in which she can build up trust step by step. Ideally, it would be a house with a garden, an existing, confident dog, and a quiet household without children under ten years old and without cats. Frieda is looking for people who will give her time, respect her sensitive nature, and provide her with the security she needs to develop into a wonderful companion. Frieda is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport. Frieda is only available after a positive our shelter wishes to adopt Frieda. Thank you, Mara! You gave Frieda her first ray of hope and her name. Date: 15.04. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Frieda darf bleiben! Vielen Dank an Mara! Stand: 15.04.2026

About Frieda

What life with Frieda looks like

Frieda is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frieda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frieda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frieda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frieda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frieda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frieda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frieda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
