Adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements adoption process Request this dog now! Josie is a young female dog who is still in the middle of her development. She is playful, likes to move and curiously explores her surroundings, while at the same time she is gentle in her interactions and seeks out contact with people on her own. She calmly accepts closeness without being pushy, showing how much trust she brings. She was found together with her sister in the yard of a hut in Bologa. There was no chip and no one looking for them. Everything points to the fact that they were left on purpose. Since then, she has been safe and is slowly stabilizing. Currently, this cute mouse is about 5.5 months old and is expected to grow to medium size when fully grown. She is currently about 40 cm tall and weighs 10 kg. Josie gets along well with other dogs. It is currently unknown if she knows cats. Life in a home is new for her. Things like fixed routines, arriving at the house, rest periods or walking on a leash she will have to learn. At the same time, she has the openness to get involved. The puberty will also not be missing for Josie. In this phase, she will try things out, question limits and not always immediately understand what is expected of her. With patience, clear structure and a calm accompaniment, she can develop well. A positively working dog training class can support her well. Josie is looking for people who give her security and accompany her step by step into life. Josie is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and treated for fleas and travels with EU pet passport. She can leave at the end of May after a positive Many thanks to her godmother Corinna E., who gave her her name. Status: 13.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 13.05.2026

About Josie

What life with Josie looks like

Josie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Josie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Josie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Josie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Josie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Josie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Josie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Josie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
