Frieda

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

Frieda – spirited tiger lady seeks patient humans &; Frieda is a tiger-striped female cat, born in October 2024, who came to us as a found cat at the animal shelter. She has plenty of spirit and makes it very clear what she wants—and what she doesn't. Petting is currently not on her list. Frieda is independent, watchful, and strong-willed. She needs people who truly understand cats, respect her boundaries, and don't try to force anything. For her, we are looking for either a place on a farm or a home with very patient cat lovers who will give her time and let her just be a cat. As an outdoor cat, Frieda wants the opportunity to be outside and to retreat whenever she feels the need. A child-free household is absolutely necessary—calm and a clear environment are essential for her. Frieda is not a cat for "immediate closeness," but for people who enjoy seeing trust grow slowly—perhaps from a distance, perhaps step by step. Whoever gives her this space is giving her exactly the home she needs. &; If you are seriously interested, we would be happy to arrange a meet-and-greet.

About Frieda

What life with Frieda looks like

Frieda is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frieda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frieda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frieda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frieda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frieda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frieda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frieda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
