Adopt Frieda … wahrt den Abstand

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 1 year

Name of the Animal: Frieda Stock Number: 133_F_25 Reason for Admission: Found animal Admitted to the animal shelter since: 12.06.2025 Breed: EKH Gender: female Color/Coat: spotted with white Date of Birth: 01.05.2024 Shoulder height/Weight: Found location/Reason for surrender: Moers Description: Frieda arrived at the animal shelter in June with her very young kittens. Her kittens have since moved out, and Frieda was spayed and moved to the cattery. During her pregnancy, young Frieda did not seek much contact with us but always allowed us to interact with her babies. Now in the cattery, she seems happy to maintain more distance. She observes us a lot, and we think she will need some time to build trust. Frieda needs a patient and compassionate home – definitely with a free roam after an appropriate settling period. We could also envision her as a garden cat – but even for that, a closed-off area is needed for a while so Frieda can "attach" herself. Spontaneous visits are unfortunately not possible. For inquiries about Frieda, the coordinating colleagues are available for telephone consultations from Monday to Friday from 14 – 17 hours and on Saturday from 13 – 16 hours. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Frieda … wahrt den Abstand

What life with Frieda … wahrt den Abstand looks like

Frieda … wahrt den Abstand is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Moers in Moers.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frieda … wahrt den Abstand, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frieda … wahrt den Abstand?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Moers handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frieda … wahrt den Abstand on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frieda … wahrt den Abstand if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Moers will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frieda … wahrt den Abstand already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frieda … wahrt den Abstand isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Moers early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frieda … wahrt den Abstand and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
