adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Fritzchen has found a home! His story: Tiny lives that barely had a chance and yet made the most of it. Fritzchen and his siblings Eyra, Püppie, Elea, and Leiza were only 10 weeks old when they were found on an abandoned farm. Originally there were seven of them, but sadly two puppies were unfortunately killed. The remaining five could apparently hide and have fortunately survived. The little ones are currently living in a Romanian shelter and are understandably still a bit shy. But if given time and attention, their true nature quickly comes out: friendly, curious, and so loving. They snuggle closely in your arms and enjoy every pat. We hope very much that they will soon find good homes where they will feel warmth and security and develop into the wonderful personalities whose early signs are already clearly visible. Fritzchen stands out immediately with his beautiful brown fur and dark muzzle. At around 4 kg, he is still small, but should grow to a medium size when fully grown. With mixed breeds like him, it is often difficult to determine the exact breed. This is especially true for his litter, as each sibling looks very different. Perhaps a slight German Shepherd influence can be seen in Fritzchen, but that remains pure speculation. Young pup Fritzchen still needs to learn the dog ABCs: leash training, house training, first commands, and safe coexistence with people. Like every puppy, he will soon enter puberty – a phase where it is completely normal for him to question everything and thus need guidance. Fritzchen is looking for a home full of adventure and love. People who like to be active, play with him, and challenge his smart head with varied tasks. Maybe he also enjoys attending dog training classes or trying out dog sports. Most importantly, however, he needs to be closely tied to his family. He loves other dogs very much, but has no experience with cats. After a positive neutering, he is age-appropriately still not ready. Who has a free dog bed for our sweet Fritzchen – or would like to temporarily foster him? Many thanks, Sabine D., for taking on his namingship. As of: 16.12. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. Some symptoms here are age-related.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 16.12.2025

About Fritzchen

What life with Fritzchen looks like

Fritzchen is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fritzchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fritzchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fritzchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fritzchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fritzchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fritzchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fritzchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
