28.12.2024 Frodo has recently visited the shelter kennel for a senior check-up. Unfortunately, a tough early life has left its mark and age has started to catch up with him. Frodo was found to have developing spondylosis as well as arthritis in the knees. Background and storyThe exceptional circumstances caused by the coronavirus hit Romania hard. In addition to other consequences, the number of homeless dogs increased explosively, as people and businesses no longer had the possibility to take care of their dogs. This happened to Frodo, who had lived his entire life as a yard dog for a company before the year 2020. In June 2020, Delia, who maintains Care for Dogs, was called, that due to the coronavirus the company had to close and at the same time the dogs would have to be disposed of. If Delia did not take the dogs, they would end up in the municipal shelter kennel by the authorities. Therefore, Delia took the dogs to safety at her own farm. Unfortunately, Frodo has turned out to be difficult for people and therefore has been in the shelter kennel for almost three years without the possibility of a better life. Frodo is a kind and gentle personality. Strangers greatly stress him and he tends to keep a small distance from people when possible. People, their movements and especially their food strongly interest Frodo and despite his shyness he enjoys roaming around nearby and following the person's movements. Frodo is very stressed by handling, but despite his fear of the shelter kennel has politely undergone the necessary treatment procedures. He has lived in several kennel arrangements and has gotten along nicely with both females and males. Frodo clearly seeks support from canine companions and would definitely benefit from a lively companion at home, who could serve as a role model.

28.12.2024Frodo on käynyt tarhalla hiljattain senioritarkastuksessa. Valitettavasti rankka alkuelämä on jättänyt jälkensä ja ikä on alkanut hiipiä häntä kiinni. Frodolta löydettiin alkavaa spondyloosia sekä nivelrikkoa kyynerpäissä.Tausta ja tarinaKoronan aiheuttamat poikkeusajat iskivät rajusti myös Romaniaan. Muiden seurausten ohella myös kodittomien koirien määrä kasvoi räjähdysmäisesti, kun ihmisillä ja yrityksillä ei enää ollut mahdollisuuksia huolehtia koiristaan. Näin kävi Frodolle, joka oli ennen vuotta 2020 asunut koko elämänsä erään yrityksen pihakoirana. Kesäkuussa 2020 Care for Dogsia ylläpitävälle Delialle soitettiin, että koronan vuoksi yritys piti sulkea ja samalla koirista olisi päästävä eroon. Jos Delia ei ottaisi koiria, ne päätyisivät rankkurien toimesta kunnalliselle tarhalle. Niinpä Delia haki koirat turvaan omalle tarhalleen. Valitettavasti Frodo on tarhalla osoittautunut ujoksi ihmisiä kohtaan ja siksi hän on viettänyt siellä jo pian kolme vuotta vailla mahdollisuutta parempaan elämään. Frodo on herttainen ja suloinen persoona. Vieraat ihmiset jännittävät häntä kovasti ja hän pyrkii mahdollisuuksien mukaan pitämään pientä välimatkaa ihmisiin. Ihmiset, heidän touhut ja varsinkin herkut kuitenkin kiinnostavat Frodoa kovasti ja ujoudestaan huolimatta hän tykkää pyöriä lähettyvillä ja seurailla ihmisen touhuja. Frodo jännittää kovasti käsittelyä, mutta on tarhalla pelostaan huolimatta antanut nätisti suorittaa tarvittavat hoitotoimenpiteet. Hän on asunut useammassa häkkikokoonpanossa ja tullut hienosti toimeen niin narttujen kuin urostenkin kanssa. Frodo hakeekin selvästi tukea koirakavereista ja hyötyisi varmasti myös kotona reippaasta kaverista, josta katsoa mallia.
