FRODO

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 8 months

Frodo is an 8-year-old, 27 kg dignified handsome dog who patiently waits for his human. He has a unique beauty. His black fur contrasts beautifully with the warm, ruddy markings on his face and paws. He has wise, brown eyes that show calmness and great kindness. One ear stands proudly up, the other slightly bends, giving him a unique charm. When he smiles, he looks like he wants to say, "I don't need much... just my human." He is an extremely calm, balanced, and well-behaved dog. He doesn't seek chaos or constant attention. He is a loyal companion who simply likes to be close to humans. It's hard not to calm down in his presence - he exudes calmness and gives a sense of security. Frodo behaves perfectly on walks. He walks nicely on a leash, doesn't pull, and doesn't cause any problems. He currently goes on two walks a day, and each one is a pure pleasure. He walks at a calm pace, observes his surroundings with interest, and politely passes by people and new places. He is a true canine gentleman, with whom you can enjoy even the most ordinary walk. Frodo may not be a young, crazy dog anymore, but that's where his great charm lies. He doesn't need marathons or endless games. He needs a home, a soft bed, a gentle hand, and someone who appreciates his wonderful character. He is a dog who will repay with loyalty, calm presence, and boundless devotion. Dogs like Frodo often wait the longest... because people choose younger ones. And yet, it is the mature dogs who can love the most beautifully. Don't let this special boy spend more months waiting behind bars. He really deserves his own home and a person he can love with his big heart. If you feel that Frodo should be part of your family, contact us.

Frodo to pies o wyjątkowej urodzie. To pies niezwykle spokojny, zrównoważony i ułożony. To prawdziwy psi gentleman, z którym można czerpać radość nawet z najzwyklejszego spaceru. A przecież to właśnie dojrzałe psy potrafią kochać najpiękniej. Nie pozwólmy, by ten wyjątkowy chłopak spędził kolejne miesiące czekając za kratami. On naprawdę zasługuje na własny dom i człowieka, którego będzie mógł kochać całym swoim wielkim sercem. About FRODO

What life with FRODO looks like

FRODO is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting FRODO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FRODO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FRODO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FRODO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FRODO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FRODO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know FRODO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
