Fuchs & Fee

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Fee and Fuchs are shy, but they have a lot of character. They are small, lovable troublemakers. They are affectionate, gluttonous, sociable, and generally of the opinion that a foreign lap is just an unoccupied lap - a la Garfield? Fee and Fuchs seem to have skipped over these points in the job description. The two mini-tigers, born around May/June 2026, are orange, but their famous Orange Cat Energy is currently somewhere between "peering out of the cave with disdain" and "COME TO ME, BUT DON'T GET TOO CLOSE!" Fee, a rare representative of the red female world, and her brother Fuchs, approach the human species with a healthy dose of skepticism. If you bother them? "HISS." If you get too close? "HISS." If the human simply has the audacity to exist in the same room? Well, then at least they'll look at you with disdain, making you reconsider your previous life choices. Opinionated? Absolutely. And yet - or maybe just because of this - these two have something very special. With their amber tones, their alert eyes, and their cautious nature, Fee and Fuchs look a bit like they didn't come from the animal shelter, but rather stepped straight out of a fairy tale forest. Two small, human-shy forest spirits who haven't yet found a convincing reason to trust bipeds unconditionally. So their Orange Cat Energy needs to be coaxed out. Literally. With a feather duster. With treats. With play. And above all with calmness, patience, empathy, and the ability to find a cat lovable even when it's clearly not reciprocating those feelings. Because trust can't be demanded from Fee and Fuchs. You have to earn it. And that's where these very special, perhaps a little eccentric people come in, who never looked for a cat anyway, who snuggle up to every visitor and purr on their laps after three minutes. People who like individualists. Who can observe. Who are happy about a five-centimeter reduction in flight distance just as much as others are happy about a cat on their arm. And who know that the greatest compliment is sometimes not being loved by everyone - but being deliberately chosen by a cautious animal. We are pretty sure: If Fee and Fuchs are given this time, they will turn into breathtaking, graceful mini-tigers. Not everybody's darlings. But cats that will make a difference between their humans and the rest of the world. And when they wander through their garden, disappear into the grass, control their territory on silent paws, and make the local mouse population think about a change of residence, no one will understand why they once wanted to be invisible. Because that's exactly where we see them: with people with a heart for characterful heads. In a quiet home with a secure base, a lot of patience, and - after appropriate acclimatization - freedom to roam. Freedom-loving little hunters. A bit wild. A bit peculiar. A bit fairytale. And quite possibly very much cat, once they've found the courage to show it. Fee and Fuchs want to move into their new home together. They are vaccinated and chipped when they move out; the

About Fuchs & Fee

What life with Fuchs & Fee looks like

Fuchs & Fee is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel in Brandenburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fuchs & Fee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fuchs & Fee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fuchs & Fee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fuchs & Fee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fuchs & Fee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fuchs & Fee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Brandenburg an der Havel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fuchs & Fee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
