FUCHUR

Male · Senior · 13 years

Our European Shorthair tomcat FUCHUR was born in June 2013. He came to us after his owner unfortunately passed away. FUCHUR is male and neutered. FUCHUR is looking for a quiet and understanding home without children. An stress-free environment is particularly important for him, as he is a very sensitive and rather anxious tomcat. When encountering unfamiliar situations, he is initially reserved and shy, so his new humans should give him ample time to adjust. After a certain period of adjustment, however, FUCHUR shows his loving side. Then he enjoys the company of his trusted people, is cuddly, and builds a close bond with his humans. Despite his insecurity, he also has a temperamental nature and knows exactly what he wants. Whether he gets along with other cats is currently unknown. Therefore, he is preferably rehomed in an apartment living situation where he can find the necessary peace and security. FUCHUR is blind and nearly deaf. Due to his limitations, he needs a home where as few changes as possible are made so he can orient himself safely. Changes in his environment upset him quickly, as he already has difficulties with orientation. Further examinations are currently pending to better assess his health condition. -0Fax:

-0Fax: 089/90 73 20E-Mail

About FUCHUR

What life with FUCHUR looks like

FUCHUR is a senior cat waiting at Tierschutzverein München.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting FUCHUR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FUCHUR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein München handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FUCHUR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FUCHUR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein München will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FUCHUR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FUCHUR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein München early rather than rehoming privately; they know FUCHUR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
