Fudge

Poodle · Female · Young · 1 year

Fudge’s ideal home would have nearby access to quiet walks, as she can be a little nervous when seeing new people and becomes overwhelmed in busy environments. To help her feel safe and comfortable, she has been wearing an ‘Anxious’ label on her lead to let people know she needs a little space. Fudge could share her home with secondary school aged children, so long as they can give her space when she needs it and allow her to build confidence at her own pace, and she would prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can enjoy all the love and attention for herself. As Fudge loves being involved in everything you do and struggles when left alone, she would suit a home where any leaving time is kept to a minimum and can be built up gradually once Fudge is settled. Fudge is a 1 year old poodle that’s as sweet as her name! She’s a young, playful girl with lots of love to give. Fudge can be a real snuggle bug and adores nothing more than a good belly rub. She’s also a very clever cookie and is already learning lots of new tricks in her foster home. She would thrive with a family who can continue keeping her clever mind busy! Fudge loves getting out on long walks and would thrive living with an active family. Her ideal day would be going out on a beach adventure and playing in the water before snoozing the evening away, all cozy at the end of your bed. Fudge is looking for a loving home that will give her the time, patience and positive experiences she needs to grow in confidence.

About Fudge

What life with Fudge looks like

Fudge is a young adult poodle dog waiting at Dogs Trust Shoreham in Shoreham by Sea.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fudge, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fudge?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Shoreham handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fudge on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fudge if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Shoreham will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Fudge already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fudge isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Shoreham early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fudge and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
