Adopt Fudge

Samoyed · Female · Young · 2 years

06-05-26 Fudge is a very friendly lady who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She loves attention and is very easy to handle. Fudge gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort. She can become a little overwhelmed when out alone, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help build her confidence as she settles in and finds her paws. As Fudge has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training, and the other basics of home life. Fudge can already walk on a lead and would enjoy one or two gentle walks around the local area alongside her resident dog once she is settled in. She could share her home with dog-savvy teenagers who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in. Fudge arrived severely matted, but she has now had a much-needed groom and is far more comfortable as a result. Fudge is a lovely, gentle girl who clearly enjoys human company and affection. With time, reassurance, and the support of another dog, she will continue to grow in confidence and make a wonderful companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Fudge

What life with Fudge looks like

Fudge is a young adult samoyed dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fudge, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fudge?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fudge on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fudge if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fudge already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fudge isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fudge and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
