Fundhuhn aus Stöckse

Mixed Breed · Unknown

A vigilant finder noticed this chicken (likely a so-called Dominican chicken) in the woods near Stöckse. As the poor creature couldn't lift its head, we brought it to the vet immediately. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bracke from Kleintierpraxis Wietzen for the repeated quick help! The chick, which we named Berta, is still in the care of the small animal practice. It is being tended to and treated with necessary medication there. Whether little Berta will make it or not remains to be seen, but she now has a real chance! PS: Once again, we realize what special beings chickens are! It was incredible when the little Berta realized she was being helped. We kept her close to us and warmed her up. From time to time, she was already lifting her head again. We are full of hope! Please remember that every animal can feel love and returns it, whether it be pets, wild animals, or the so-called livestock! They are all feeling beings, like we humans, and deserve the same respect and consideration that we also wish to receive from others.

About Fundhuhn aus Stöckse

What life with Fundhuhn aus Stöckse looks like

Fundhuhn aus Stöckse is a adult mixed breed animal waiting at Tierheim Drakenburg in Drakenburg.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fundhuhn aus Stöckse, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fundhuhn aus Stöckse?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Drakenburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fundhuhn aus Stöckse on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fundhuhn aus Stöckse if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Drakenburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fundhuhn aus Stöckse already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fundhuhn aus Stöckse isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Drakenburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fundhuhn aus Stöckse and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
