Gaby

Mixed Breed · Male · 4 years

There's a rule that says if you look someone in the eyes for several minutes, you fall in love. I'm sure that's what happened with Gaby's big eyes, and now you're all in love with him. And that's before I've even told you anything. Our big boy is almost 4 years old and he's the most adorable. We call him a dog by genetics because we actually suspect he's a kangaroo. Every time we take him to the park and he starts playing, he jumps and jumps without stopping. Isn't he even more adorable now? He's spent his whole life surrounded by animals, so now it's time to give him a bit of attention and that tongue that sticks out every time he's super happy. I'll let you take a moment to look at his photo again and admire him, then you can keep reading. We continue here. If there's something this precious tigrated puppy loves in the world, it's long and fun walks. He adores exploring the world, especially if he's accompanied by people who give him affection. He's the perfect companion for routes, games, and fun. By this point, I imagine you've fallen in love with him, but not all of you have enough space in your home to adopt this little kangaroo. If you do, please write to and remember that his reference number is 23592. If you don't, please share this post and help Gaby find a safe home, not in a kennel enclosure.

About Gaby

What life with Gaby looks like

Gaby is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Protectora Malaga in Málaga.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gaby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gaby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Malaga handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gaby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gaby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Malaga will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gaby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gaby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Malaga early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gaby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
