Gaia

Female · Kitten · 1 month

Gaia (619/26) and Tezenis (620/26) are two kittens who have recently arrived at the shelter and are in urgent need of loving homes. These little ones are still very young and their bodies are fragile, making them particularly vulnerable to bacteria and viruses. It is essential that they leave the shelter as soon as possible. For the well-being of the kittens and to ensure their healthy development, we recommend adopting them in pairs or pairing a single kitten with a resident young cat. Adopting such youngsters requires dedication and knowledge, so for those without experience with kittens, we encourage you to read the cat adoption guide, which provides essential information on raising a kitten. This will help you better prepare for welcoming a new kitten into your home. Before adoption, we suggest reviewing the pre-adoption questionnaire and arriving at the shelter with the completed form. Please note: When adopting a cat or considering adoption, be sure to bring a cat carrier or transport bag to the shelter. Before adoption, ensure that your home/apartment is safe and properly prepared for a new family member. Don't forget to secure windows and balconies.

Gaia (619/26) i Tezenis (620/26) Rodzina kociąt trafiła do schroniska i potrzebuje pilnie znaleźć kochające domy. Maluchy to jeszcze kocie dzieci. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Gaia

What life with Gaia looks like

Gaia is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gaia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gaia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gaia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gaia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gaia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gaia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gaia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
