Galaretka

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Galaretka is a beautiful, cheerful little dog who came to us after an intervention. When we met her, she was emaciated, terrified, and very neglected. It was hard to believe that so much love and joy could be hidden in such a small, sad body. Today, Galaretka is a completely different dog. Every day, she shows us how great her will to live is and how much she can love a human. She is an extremely affectionate, cheerful, and playful little dog who loves to be close to people. She walks beautifully, is curious about the world, and enjoys every moment. Galaretka loves children and teenagers - in their presence, she is joyful and full of energy. It's amazing that despite what happened to her, she hasn't lost trust in humans. On the contrary - today she gives love to everyone. She is brave, loved, and full of life. Looking at her, it's hard to believe how much she has been through. Galaretka doesn't dwell on the past - she just wants to live, love, walk, and be someone's beloved little dog. Age: around 3-4 years Weight: around 13 kg We are looking for a home for Galaretka where she can show her that she will always be safe and loved. A home where she can enjoy the life she so deserves. Galaretka has come a long way. Now it's time for her most beautiful chapter - her own home.

PL·Show original

About Galaretka

What life with Galaretka looks like

Galaretka is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Czekadełko in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Galaretka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Galaretka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Czekadełko handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Galaretka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Galaretka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Czekadełko will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Galaretka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Galaretka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Czekadełko early rather than rehoming privately; they know Galaretka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
