Gamin 1

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 8 years

Gamin has lived primarily outdoors with several other cats and has been cared for by an elderly person for about ten years. Unfortunately, she fell ill and was no longer able to continue caring for him. Gamin has therefore joined the shelter in order to receive new care and find a home. He is a cat who has known a long life outdoors and can be a bit fearful, especially when he discovers new people or a new environment. He will need time, gentleness and patience to gain confidence and feel fully safe. Accustomed to living with other cats for many years, Gamin is comfortable with his fellow cats. He could therefore share his daily life with another cat, with gradual introductions. On the other hand, we do not yet know his compatibility with dogs. Despite his past mainly focused on the outdoors, Gamin will now have to live without access to the outdoors. He will therefore need a secure, quiet and sufficiently enriched indoor environment to allow him to gradually regain his bearings and adapt to this new way of life.

FR·Show original

About Gamin 1

What life with Gamin 1 looks like

Gamin 1 is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Perwez) in Sans Collier.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gamin 1, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gamin 1?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Perwez) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gamin 1 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gamin 1 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Perwez) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gamin 1 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gamin 1 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Perwez) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gamin 1 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
