Garo ist ein wunderschöner kroatischer Schäferhund mit einem ganz besonderen Herzen. ❤️ Sein ganzes Leben verbrachte er an der Seite seines Besitzers – die beiden waren unzertrennlich. Als sein Mensch aus gesundheitlichen Gründen in ein Pflegeheim ziehen musste, brach für beide eine Welt zusammen. Unter Tränen bat er uns, für Garo ein liebevolles neues Zuhause zu finden. Inzwischen ist Garo in Deutschland auf einer Pflegestelle angekommen und hat sich dort erstaunlich schnell eingelebt. Er lernt täglich dazu, orientiert sich sehr an seinen Menschen und bindet sich stark an seine Bezugsperson. Garo ist ausgeglichen, lernfreudig und sehr menschenbezogen. Er läuft gut an der Leine, kennt die Grundkommandos und möchte seinem Menschen gefallen. Mit anderen Hunden zeigt er sich sozial und freundlich, auch mit Katzen kann er nach einer behutsamen Eingewöhnung zusammenleben. Als Schäferhund braucht Garo jedoch klare, souveräne Führung und verlässliche Strukturen. Diese geben ihm Sicherheit und Halt. Fehlt ihm diese Orientierung, neigt er dazu, selbst Entscheidungen zu treffen und die Führung übernehmen zu wollen. Deshalb suchen wir für ihn Menschen, die ihm freundlich, aber konsequent zeigen, dass er sich auf sie verlassen kann. Kleine Kinder sollten in seinem zukünftigen Zuhause nicht leben. Nicht, weil Garo mit Kindern nicht zurechtkommt, sondern weil wir uns für ihn ein ruhiges und klar strukturiertes Umfeld wünschen, in dem Regeln zuverlässig eingehalten werden und er nicht das Gefühl bekommt, selbst Verantwortung übernehmen zu müssen. Für Garo suchen wir daher Menschen mit Hundeerfahrung, idealerweise mit Schäferhunderfahrung, die Freude daran haben, mit diesem intelligenten und loyalen Hund weiterzuarbeiten.
