Ik weet niet zo goed hoe ik moet beginnen, want eigenlijk begint mijn verhaal niet zo mooi. Ik ben via een inbeslagname in de opvang terechtgekomen, samen met mijn broer. We waren nog zo jong… en toch hebben we moeten vechten voor alles: eten, warmte, aandacht. Dingen die vanzelfsprekend zouden moeten zijn, waren voor ons een strijd. Maar ik ga voor mezelf spreken want de band met mijn broer is er niet. Echt niet. Misschien omdat we nooit geleerd hebben wat “samen” betekent. Hier, in de opvang, heb ik voor het eerst iets gevoeld wat ik niet kende. Warmte, rust en genegenheid. Iemand die zacht tegen me praat. Het is nieuw… en soms ook een beetje eng. Alles moet voor mij van nul beginnen. Zindelijkheid, alleen thuisblijven, vertrouwen… het zijn woorden die ik nog moet leren begrijpen. Maar ik wil het wel proberen. Echt waar. Wandelen heb ik hier al ontdekt, en dat… dat vind ik geweldig. In het begin ben ik nerveus, mijn hoofd en mijn poten weten niet goed wat ze moeten doen. Maar als ik even de tijd krijg, word ik rustiger. Dan begin ik te snuffelen, te kijken… en heel voorzichtig te genieten. 🌿 Ik ben op zoek naar een thuis waar ik me veilig kan voelen. Een plek met een goede, stevige omheining, zodat ik niet kan vluchten van dingen die ik nog niet begrijp. Een huis zonder kleine kindjes of andere dieren. Niet omdat ik niet lief kan zijn… maar omdat het voor mij allemaal te veel is. Wat ik het meest nodig heb… is iemand met geduld. Iemand die begrijpt dat ik alles nog moet leren. Die mij de tijd geeft om stap voor stap te ontdekken wat het betekent om een hond te zijn… en misschien ooit gewoon gelukkig.
