George & Betty – In Foster – South East

English Bulldog · Female

Please join us in welcoming George and Betty into the GBSR family. These beautiful Bulldogs have sadly found themselves needing our help due to their family’s personal circumstances. It is clear that they have been very much loved, and we ask that everyone is kind and understanding. Circumstances can change unexpectedly, and negative or judgemental comments will not be tolerated. George and Betty are both currently in good condition. Betty is spayed, and we will be arranging veterinary checks for them both over the coming days to make sure they are healthy, comfortable and have everything they need. What has really touched us is just how much these two adore each other. They are incredibly loving and are often found snuggled up together, clearly taking comfort and reassurance from having each other by their side. After such a big change in their lives, having their best friend with them will make all the difference as they begin to settle into foster care. They are now safely in foster with the lovely Hazel and her family in the South East. A huge thank you to Hazel for jumping into action and heading out early over the weekend to collect them. We are incredibly grateful to Hazel and her family for opening their home and giving George and Betty somewhere safe, warm and loving to begin this next chapter. For now, we simply want these two to have the time they need to settle, relax and feel safe again. Their applications are not open at this stage, so please don't apply just yet. They need to complete their assessments and we want to get to know them properly before we start looking for their forever home. Please give George and Betty a very warm GBSR welcome and follow their journey with us. We can't wait to see these two beautiful souls blossom in foster care. About George & Betty – In Foster – South East

What life with George & Betty – In Foster – South East looks like

George & Betty – In Foster – South East is an extra-large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting George & Betty – In Foster – South East, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about George & Betty – In Foster – South East?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw George & Betty – In Foster – South East on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt George & Betty – In Foster – South East if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is George & Betty – In Foster – South East already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if George & Betty – In Foster – South East isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know George & Betty – In Foster – South East and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
