Kobi – In foster – South West

English Bulldog · Male

We have a heartbreaking story to share with you this evening Meet Kobi, a 4-year-old entire male who has spent his life so far in pain and discomfort. Kobi was surrendered to us after his primary carer abandoned him. Although he was left with family in the home he had always known, he was abandoned nonetheless. The family quickly realised that the care and medical attention Kobi required was more than they could manage, especially the financial costs involved. They made the difficult decision to put Kobi's needs first and reached out to us for help, which we were so grateful to be able to provide. After seeing the condition Kobi was in, our incredible rescue coordinators and volunteers jumped into action to bring him into our care as quickly as possible. We would like to say a huge thank you to Mandy Carpenter and Sharon Smith for transporting Kobi and getting him safely to his foster mum so quickly. Kobi has joined our wonderful volunteer, Sarah, in the South West, where we know he will be spoilt rotten and showered with all the love he needs and deserves. Yesterday, Sarah took Kobi to the vets for a full health check. However, after not seeing a vet for such a long time and experiencing so much change, Kobi was absolutely petrified and didn't want to be touched. Thankfully, Sarah had taken lots of photos of Kobi's condition for our vet to review and, as expected, he's dealing with a lot: a double ear infection, demodex, allergies, an eye infection, bilateral cherry eye, overgrown claws, and severe hyperkeratosis. Kobi has now been started on a course of antibiotics, steroids, and Malaseb shampoo to begin his road to recovery. In two weeks, he will return to the vets for a thorough examination under sedation, during which his eyes will be examined thoroughly, his ears will be flushed, and his claws will be trimmed. You're safe and loved now, Kobi, and we will do everything in our power to help you recover and live the pain-free life you deserve. Welcome to your Geordie Bullies family! About Kobi – In foster – South West

What life with Kobi – In foster – South West looks like

Kobi – In foster – South West is a extra-large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kobi – In foster – South West, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kobi – In foster – South West?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kobi – In foster – South West on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kobi – In foster – South West if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kobi – In foster – South West already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kobi – In foster – South West isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kobi – In foster – South West and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
