Georgina

Border Collie · Female · Puppy

Georgina - a beautiful Tricolor Border Collie female, sister of Gerald. We are looking for responsible people who are not just captivated by her pretty appearance, but also understand the breed and genetics of the Border Collie. Although Georgina herself does not have visible merle coloring, the merle gene plays a role in her family line. Therefore, it is important to us that her future people are aware of this issue and know that certain genetic characteristics in Border Collies can also have health implications. We also want people for Georgina who understand what makes a Border Collie: These dogs are intelligent, sensitive and extremely eager to learn. They want to be encouraged and given meaningful tasks, but also need people who can calm them and provide a reliable framework. Georgina should not just be loved because she is beautiful. We want people who consciously choose a Border Collie, understand its needs and are willing to go through life with her. Whoever gives Georgina their heart takes responsibility for many years together - ideally 15 years or more. Click here for Georgina's video.

About Georgina

What life with Georgina looks like

Georgina is a puppy/kitten border collie dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Georgina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Georgina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Georgina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Georgina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Georgina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Georgina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Georgina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
