Ghost

Male Β· Adult Β· 4 years

Hi, my name is Ghost. Don't be scared, I'm not a scary ghost, but a very sweet boy. I was found on the street with huge infected ears. Luckily, the people at the shelter take great care of me, so I can tell you that my ears are now clean again. I've also been neutered, so I'm ready for a new home. They estimate me to be about 8 months old and I'm a medium-sized male. I'm gentle with people, but also very curious about the world around me. I'm looking for a cozy household with plenty of space to go on adventures. I also want a nice rabbit lady to share my world with. Who has a place for the sweet, black ghost? Hi, mijn naam is Ghost. Gecastreerd: 2 oktober 2026 Gewicht: kg Leeftijd: 8 maanden

About Ghost

What life with Ghost looks like

Ghost is a large adult rabbit waiting at Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden in Leiden.

Rabbits are social animals β€” most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ghost, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ghost?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ghost on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ghost if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a rabbit can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Ghost already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a rabbit comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden directly what is included and what Ghost still needs.
What happens if Ghost isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Stevenshage Leiden early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ghost and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
