Giana - looking for her forever home ❤️ .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-108 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-imageframe.imageframe-13 img{aspect-ratio:9 / 16;object-position:20% 38%;} .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-109 > Aufenthaltsort: Animal Shelter in Slavonski Brod, Croatia Birth date: 01.03.2026 Shoulder height: expected about 50cm Compatibility with cats unknown Single or second dog ideal environment: suburban, suitable for: ambitious dog beginners .fusion-body .fusion-button Direct to self-disclosure .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-110 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-gallery-13 Loading the next set of gallery items... load more images... .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-111 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container Also honestly... how can you scroll further at this face? 🥹 I've groomed my floppy ears, put on my most loyal puppy look and held still. Now it's your turn! I am Giana, born on 01.03.2026, and ready to finally find my own family. With my pretty white blaze, the caramel brown markings and my floppy ears, I look like I could not spoil a puddle. That's right... at least as long as somewhere a leaf rustles, a butterfly flies by or I discover an exciting smell. 😉 Probably a hunting dog mix is in me. That's why I want people who want to discover the world with me and give me both physical and mental appropriate exercise - whether exciting walks, sniffing games, nose work or many adventures together. My story unfortunately does not start as carefree as it should be. Together with my siblings I lived on a farm in Croatia. When our animal welfare partner Kristina was informed and looked at us, the man put her in front of a cruel choice: either she takes all the puppies - or he would drown us. There was no time for discussions. Svetlana took us all to safety and gave us the chance at a life that every puppy deserves. As a puppy, of course, I still have to learn the puppy 1x1. Housebreaking, walking on a leash, being alone and all the little rules of everyday life are still on my timetable. With loving consistency, patience and a pinch of humor, I will definitely master this with flying colors. I am looking for people who not only see my cute face, but understand that I will once become an active, clever female dog who wants to be part of the family and go through life with her people. So... how was it with scrolling now? Exactly. I also thought we should get to know each other first. Maybe my happy end is waiting right for you. ❤️🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interest in an adoption? About Giana

What life with Giana looks like

Giana is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Giana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Giana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Giana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Giana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Giana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Giana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Giana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
