This scared young man has been given the name Gideon by us. Gideon was found together with a whole group of other cats. They were wandering around without an owner and therefore were caught and safely brought to the animal shelter. Gideon is clearly not used to people and shows this by puffing up, growling and swatting when we get too close. We can't tell you much about him yet, but we would like to introduce him to you anyway. Our socialization team is working with him, but it would be even better if he gets a home where he can take nice steps. We have often seen that love, treats, calmness and patience can make a big difference. For Gideon we are looking for a home with people who have experience with shy cats. People who accept him as he is and give him time to adjust and gain trust. It would be nice if he could be placed with or near another cat so he can learn from them. We will not place Gideon with small children, because they are too unpredictable for him and would cause too much stress. It is not known how he reacts to dogs. The estimated birth date of Gideon is May 28, 2021. He has had his deworming, flea treatment and vaccinations and he is neutered. He is therefore completely ready to move. Deze bange jongeman heeft van ons de naam Gideon gekregen. Gideon is gevonden samen met een hele groep andere katten. Ze zwierven rond zonder eigenaar en daarom zijn ze gevangen en veilig naar het asiel gebracht. Gideon is duidelijk niet aan mensen gewend en laat dit merken door te blazen, grommen en slaan als we te dichtbij komen. We kunnen nog niet zo veel over hem vertellen, maar we willen hem wel alvast aan jullie voorstellen. Ons socialisatieteam gaat met hem aan de slag, maar het zou nog fijner zijn als hij een eigen huisje krijgt waar hij mooie stappen mag gaan zetten. We hebben al vaak genoeg gezien dat liefde, lekkers, rust én geduld een hoop verschil kan maken. Voor Gideon zoeken we een huisje bij mensen die ervaring hebben met bange katten. Mensen die hem accepteren zoals hij is en hem de tijd geven om te wennen en vertrouwen te krijgen. Het zou fijn zijn als hij met of bij een andere kat geplaatst kan worden, zodat hij hier ook wat van kan leren. We plaatsen Gideon niet bij kleine kinderen, want deze zijn te onvoorspelbaar voor hem en zullen teveel stress geven. Het is niet bekend hoe hij op honden reageert. De geboortedatum van Gideon is geschat op 28 mei 2021. Hij heeft zijn ontworming, ontvlooiing en vaccinaties gehad en hij is gecastreerd. Hij is dus helemaal klaar om te verhuizen.
