Adopt Valerio

Unknown · Young · 2 years

Valerio is a sweet and gentle hangover who loves to hug. At first, he may be a little shy, but once he's sniffed your hand and trusts you, he'd rather not stop hugging. He clearly enjoys attention and likes to seek your proximity. His date of birth is estimated at 18-9-2023. Valerio can sometimes be a bit scared but he always gets back together and then comes back to you nicely to hug. He can see less well from one eye, so his depth vision is sometimes somewhat limited. This doesn't stop him in his daily activities but it's nice if his new home takes this into account. He should therefore not go outside freely but a cat-safe garden would be nice for him. For Valerio we find a quiet cottage where there is not too much hustle and bustle, so he can feel safe and relaxed. It would be very nice if he could be adopted together with Viva, because they like to be together and give each other a lot of support.

About Valerio

What life with Valerio looks like

Valerio is a young adult cat waiting at Hokazo in Uden.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Valerio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Valerio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hokazo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Valerio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Valerio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hokazo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Valerio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Valerio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hokazo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Valerio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
