Adopt Giewont

Male · Young · 1 year

Giewont is a young, black male cat with an inquisitive nature. He carefully observes his surroundings and it is clear that the world around him greatly intrigues him. At the same time, the current situation is new for him and a bit stressful, so at first he may seem a little uncertain. The male cat gradually becomes accustomed to the presence of people and needs a calm approach that will allow him to build trust at his own pace. Being confined in a cage is difficult for him; it's clearly evident that he dreams of more space and the opportunity to freely explore his environment. We are looking for a home that will give him time, patience, and space to calmly get to know his new reality. With a caring owner, Giewont will certainly be able to gain confidence and show his wonderful feline personality. Before adoption, we recommend meeting with the pre-adoption questionnaire and visiting the animal shelter with the completed form: Note: If you decide to adopt a cat or are considering it, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag to the animal shelter for transporting cats. Before adoption, make sure your home/apartment is safe and properly prepared to welcome a new family member. Remember to secure the windows and balcony.

Giewont to młody, czarny kocurek o ciekawskiej naturze. Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon.

About Giewont

What life with Giewont looks like

Giewont is a small young adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Giewont, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Giewont?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Giewont on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Giewont if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Giewont already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Giewont isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Giewont and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
