Gina was taken to a German foster home on January 10, 2026, after the beautiful female dog, 2.5 years old, had to endure her life in the Zwinger of a Romanian shelter without any attention for two and a half years. This time made the sensitive Gina into an absolute scaredy-cat. The sweet Fynn nose didn't want to be touched and cowered in fear as soon as she was taken out of the Zwinger. Gina has developed into a life-affirming dog step by step in her foster home. Gina's foster parents describe the pretty one as an absolutely lovable animal. After a short adjustment phase, Gina was house-trained. She can stay alone for hours without destroying anything. Even on the walks that Gina can now enjoy, she behaves absolutely uncomplicated. Calm walks are possible because Gina walks well on the leash and currently shows no prey drive. Dog encounters are stress-free due to Gina's reserved nature; she passes by other fellow animals calmly. Only if the opposite is too intrusive, a growl or a show of teeth can occur. Passersby and bicycles are no issue as long as no hectic movements are made, because then Gina retreats and tucks her tail. Gina now enjoys cuddles, and even daily brushing is a high delight for her. Then Gina closes her eyes contentedly. Car rides on the back seat are okay. It was already quite clear that something with Gina's left hind leg isn't right. X-rays were taken. Here, a depressing diagnosis is shown: severe HD, caused by a trauma from puppyhood inflicted by human hands. Since the injury wasn't treated, the hip socket hasn't developed properly. Therefore, an endoprosthesis is not possible. The veterinarians advise moderate movement with targeted muscle building. Currently, Gina is on pain therapy; whether this will be necessary in the long term will be shown by time. Otherwise, Gina is healthy, a geriatric profile was made. All lab parameters are top-notch. The Mediterranean check was negative, but should be repeated in about 4 months for safety. The foster home would have liked to take Gina permanently, but the living situation doesn't fit permanently because this gentle soul should ideally not have to climb stairs to maintain her current health condition as long as possible. So we are now looking for a quiet new home for Gina. Perfect for this dream dog would be a house or an apartment on the ground floor with a garden for relaxation. With Gina, her new humans would get a quiet roommate. However, she needs time to adjust, so Gina needs a new family that can give her the time she needs, the beautiful mouse requires. Ideally, not too sporty people who like to make short, about 30-minute walks would be perfect. Older children would be sure in the household. Gina's foster parents appreciate that Gina would like to be an only princess, with a smaller dog due to her hip. Gina is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Gina ist am 10.01.26 auf ihre deutsche Pflegestelle gezogen, nachdem die wunderschöne Hündin 2,5 Jahre unbeachtet ihr Dasein im Zwinger in einem rumänischen Shelter fristen musste. Diese Zeit hat die sensible Gina zum absoluten Angsthund werden lassen. Die süße Fellnase mochte sich nicht anfassen lassen und hat sich angsterfüllt zusammengekauert, sobald sie aus dem Zwinger geholt wurde. Gina hat sich auf ihrer Pflegestelle Schritt für Schritt zu einem lebensbejahenden Hund entwickelt. Ginas Pflegeeltern beschreiben die Hübsche als absolut liebenswertes Tier. Nach einer kurzen Eingewöhnungsphase war Gina stubenrein. Stundenweise kann die knuffige Hündin Alleinbleiben, ohne irgendetwas zu zerstören. Auch auf den Spaziergängen, die Gina mittlerweile genießen kann, verhält sie sich absolut unkompliziert. Entspannte Gassirunden sind möglich, da Gina gut an der Leine läuft und aktuell keinen Jagdtrieb zeigt. Hundebegegnungen sind aufgrund Ginas zurückhaltendem Wesen stressfrei, sie geht entspannt an anderen Artgenossen vorbei. Nur wenn das Gegenüber zu aufdringlich ist, kann schon einmal geknurrt werden oder mal ein Zahn gezeigt werden. Passanten und auch Fahrräder sind kein Thema, solange keine hektischen Bewegungen gemacht werde, denn dann weicht Gina zurück und klemmt ihre Rute ein. Gina genießt mittlerweile Streicheleinheiten und auch tägliches Bürsten ist ihr ein Hochgenuss. Dann schließt Gina wohlig ihre Augen. Autofahrten auf der Rücksitzbank sind ok. Schon ziemlich rasch zeigte sich, dass etwas mit Ginas linken Hinterlauf nicht stimmt. Es wurden Röntgenbilder gefertigt. Hier zeigt sich eine niederschmetternde Diagnose- hochgradige HD, verursacht durch ein von Menschenhand verursachtes Trauma im Welpenalter. Da die Verletzung nicht behandelt wurde, hat sich die Hüftpfanne nicht vernünftig ausgebildet. Dadurch ist das Einsetzen einer Endoprothese nicht möglich. Die Tierärzte raten zu einer moderaten Bewegung ggf. zu gezieltem Muskelaufbau. Aktuell bekommt Gina eine Schmerztherapie; inwiefern diese dauerhaft nötig sein wird, wird die Zeit zeigen. Ansonsten ist Gina gesund, es wurde ein geriatrisches Profil gemacht. Alle Laborparameter sind top. Der Mittelmeercheck war negativ, sollte aber in ca. 4 Monaten zur Sicherheit wiederholt werden. Gerne hätte die Pflegestelle Gina übernommen, jedoch passt die Wohnsituation dauerhaft nicht, da diese sanfte Seele möglichst keine Treppen steigen soll, um den jetzigen Gesundheitszustand möglichst lange zu erhalten. So suchen wir für Gina nun ein ruhiges neues Zuhause. Perfekt für diese Traumhündin wäre ein Haus oder eine Wohnung, die ebenerdig gelegen ist und vielleicht mit einem Garten zum Entspannen. Mit Gina bekommen ihre neuen Menschen eine ruhige Mitbewohnerin. Jedoch wird sie Zeit zum Eingewöhnen benötigen, deshalb braucht Gina eine neue Familie, die ihr die Zeit gibt, die die wunderschöne Maus benötigt. Optimal wären nicht allzu sportliche Menschen, die gerne kleine ca. 30 minütige Spaziergänge machen ;-). Ältere Kinder wären sicher im Haushalt möglich. Ginas Pflegeeltern schätzen, dass Gina gerne Einzelprinzessin wäre, wobei ein kleinerer Hund aufgrund ihrer Hüfte möglich wäre. Gina ist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Sie besitzt einen EU-Heimtierausweis und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr vermittelt werden.
