Ginger

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Senior · 13 years

Delightful older gent Hello my name is Ginger and I’ve had a bit of a touch life hence my initial shyness but I am now getting more confident here and pop out of my favourite igloo to see you. I love my dinner and will come out to wait for it! I am an older gent but I’m in good health and have a lot of love to give and life to live. I love other cats so would really appreciate a home where I can have a friend to bond with. I’m not a very good traveller so I would need to have a home fairly local to where I am at the moment. If I could have an adult only home, a friend to bond with and a safe garden to enjoy when settled in I would be in seventh heaven! Please come and visit me.

About Ginger

What life with Ginger looks like

Ginger is a senior mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone Branch in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ginger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ginger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ginger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ginger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ginger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ginger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ginger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
