Adopt GINO

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Breed: Terrier-mixed breed? Project: Greece/Larissa (0, 05/2025) Gender: male/neutered Age: born 2023 Size: approx. 55 – 60 cm Weight: approx. 23 kg Other: very friendly with people and other dogs, GINO knows children and cats, very eager to learn Current Location: foster home in Larissa/Greece GINO's Story When GINO was found outside the home of an engaged animal welfare colleague at the tender age of only 1.5 months, she took him in with love, hoping to find him a new home quickly. But despite his charming nature and carefree spirit, it seemed harder than expected to find a suitable family for GINO. The reason? Perhaps his size? But, those who looked beyond his outer appearance soon realized: it's not the size that matters, but the character. GINO is what one would call a "really good dog." His openness and friendliness not only delight people but also other animals. He is very intelligent, learns at an impressive speed, and his cheerful nature is contagious. These qualities make him a potential dream companion for any family willing to offer him a loving home. This is a current and accurate assessment of GINO. How he will behave in the future, especially after moving into a new home, we cannot predict. Every animal, like us humans, will change and continue to develop. But with the right, patient, and loving guidance, GINO will surely become a loyal family member. GINO is microchipped, vaccinated, treated for endo- and ectoparasites, neutered, and tested for Mediterranean diseases up to travel arrangements. How could GINOs story end more beautifully than with a family that loves him just as he is – with his big heart ❤️.

Rasse: Terrier-Mischling? Projekt: Griechenland/Larissa (0, 05/2025) Geschlecht: männlich/kastriert Alter: geb.

About GINO

What life with GINO looks like

GINO is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. in Bamberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting GINO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about GINO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw GINO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt GINO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is GINO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if GINO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know GINO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
