Adopt JUNIOR

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Breed: Mixed Breed Project: Greece/Larissa Gender: Male Age: Born 01.01.2025 Size: Will be medium-sized Growing to about 16 kg (as of 08/2025) Other: Very friendly with people, children, and other dogs, people-oriented, active and energetic outdoors, more quiet and balanced indoors Current Location: Animal shelter in Greece/Larissa JUNIOR's Story When our colleagues first saw JUNIOR, he was sitting alone by a busy street – as if waiting for someone. Maybe for the family that left him there? No microchip, and no one seemed to miss him. But JUNIOR was overjoyed to see the animal rescuers – so much so that he almost jumped into the car by himself. One thing was clear right away: this little guy couldn't stay here longer, as the street was far too dangerous for a young and inexperienced dog like him… Today, JUNIOR is at our colleague Andriana's shelter and waiting for people who will love him. JUNIOR is a particularly friendly and affectionate dog. He loves people, is very social with children, and gets along well with other dogs. As a young hunting dog, he brings a lot of energy, is active and playful outdoors, but shows surprising calm and balance indoors. He loves to sniff around, run, and play – without showing a pronounced prey drive so far. How he will develop here, we unfortunately cannot predict. He needs an active, patient family that can offer him structure and closeness and accompany him affectionately through life. JUNIOR doesn't just want to be "around" – he wants to be right in the middle of family life. This is a current assessment of JUNIOR, based on his behavior at the shelter. How he will develop in the future, especially after moving into a new home, cannot be predicted with certainty. Like we humans, animals also undergo changes and develop further. With loving, patient, and consistent guidance, JUNIOR will certainly become a wonderful companion. JUNIOR is microchipped, vaccinated, treated for endo- and ectoparasites, and will of course be tested for Mediterranean diseases before his travel arrangements. He is currently too young for a castration. Who will give JUNIOR a home full of trust, movement, and security? He is ready for his new beginning – maybe with you?

Rasse: Mischling Projekt: Griechenland/Larissa Geschlecht: männlich Alter: geb. ❤️

About JUNIOR

What life with JUNIOR looks like

JUNIOR is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. in Bamberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting JUNIOR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JUNIOR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JUNIOR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JUNIOR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is JUNIOR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JUNIOR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierisch Grenzenlos e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know JUNIOR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
