Gio

Mixed Breed · Male

Gio ID No.: 1035057 Breed: mixed breed Age: approx. 03/2024 Sex: male Shoulder height: approx. 66 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Gio – a gentle, loyal companion with a wonderful character Gio (*approx. 03/2024, approx. 66 cm) arrived at our partner shelter TripleA Marbella (Spain) together with his younger canine buddy Gojo—without a microchip, without an owner, and no one ever asked about them. Gojo has since found a family—but Gio is still waiting for someone to see him. Gio is a calm, thoughtful, and gentle young male dog. At first, he needs a moment to build trust—but once he realizes he’s safe, he blossoms and reveals his tender, affectionate side. He’ll nudge his head under your arm and gratefully enjoy every touch. The first days at the animal shelter were tough for him; all the new impressions and loud dogs made him uneasy. However, with love, patience, and structure, he has learned to relax and trust his trusted people. Today, he meets unfamiliar dogs much more calmly and looks to humans for security. Gio loves walks, gentle words, and people who take him seriously and give him time. A quiet home, ideally without small children, would be perfect for him. He gets along well with other dogs. Gio is a dog for people with heart—he doesn’t need a hectic life, but rather trust, calm, and love. And in return, he’ll give you his soul 🤍 Gio is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas, neutered prior to travel, and comes with an EU pet passport. About Gio

What life with Gio looks like

Gio is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
