Coda

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Origin / Location: Ubeda (Andalusia) Character: kind and friendly, compatible with other dogs New home: patience, time, no expectations, a garden would be nice Adoption fee: 450 euros including transport This handsome male dog is Coda, born around April 2018, and 49 cm tall. He is in the animal shelter in Ubeda and is waiting there for his big chance. Where are the hunting dog friends who are still looking for a nice companion? When we met Coda and went out of the animal shelter with him, we experienced a dog that becomes very attached to his human. His primary caregiver on site (an older man) had become very close to him and was very important to him. He was kind and open towards us, but only had eyes for his "Dad." This is often seen in hunting dogs, that the social relationship with humans is very important to them. This shows us how happy Coda would be if he could finally have his own family, to which he could show the same affection and loyalty. He gets along well with other dogs. Now we can only hope that someone recognizes Coda's potential. Coda can travel to Germany at any time fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed, and tested for Mediterranean diseases. If picking him up in Northern Bavaria is not a problem for you, we look forward to your meaningful inquiry. The behavior and character description of the dog is based on observations from us and the local shelter staff and refers exclusively to the local conditions.

About Coda

What life with Coda looks like

Coda is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) in Vilseck.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Franz von Assisi Hundenothilfe e.V. (Hunde ohne Lobby) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
