Gipsy

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Born: approx. early to mid 2025 Gipsy is a curious but still somewhat anxious female cat. She observes her surroundings attentively, but needs more time to build trust. She doesn't want to be petted just yet. However, she can be wonderfully enticed into play with a cat wand toy. Gipsy doesn't think much of other cats. She prefers to keep out of their way rather than start a fight, though when she wants her peace and quiet, she can make that very clear. When it comes to food, Gipsy knows exactly what she likes: her favorite is wet food with plenty of gravy. She absolutely loves freeze-dried chicken hearts – they are her absolute favorite treats! She also enjoys milk very much. In her new home, Gipsy would like to enjoy outdoor access after a sufficient adjustment period and explore the world outside on her own. Gipsy is a little personality who simply needs some time, patience, and understanding to thaw out at her own pace. Feel free to get in touch at:

About Gipsy

What life with Gipsy looks like

Gipsy is an adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Ehingen und Umgebung e.V. in Ehingen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gipsy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gipsy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Ehingen und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gipsy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gipsy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Ehingen und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gipsy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gipsy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Ehingen und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gipsy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
