Gléda mama

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

A shy mixed breed mother and her 6 nursing puppies came into our care with the help of the Füzesabonyi Animal Welfare Foundation. The small family's mother is a small-sized mixed breed female dog, approximately born in 2018, resembling a Pekingese. She is an incredible mother, but at first, as shown in the pictures, she was locked in her own "fear" world. After separating the puppies, we approached her to show her that she can be someone's light and we are looking for a home for her where she will never have to experience anything bad again, so she can happily settle in as a real family member for the rest of her dog life. We hope that her angel comes, the one who waited for her, who will give her a proper, safe home and love as a family member. Unfortunately, the heartworm rapid test done upon arrival was positive, so further examinations will be needed. Gléda mama is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, and is available for adoption! About Gléda mama

What life with Gléda mama looks like

Gléda mama is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Heartworm positive - requires further medical examination and treatment

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gléda mama, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gléda mama?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gléda mama on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gléda mama if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gléda mama already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gléda mama isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gléda mama and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
