Gloria

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

The wonderful Gloria, born in 2021 and about 51 cm tall, was rescued together with her puppies from the Turceni kill shelter. When we learned of her fate, she was living there with three puppies under the worst conditions imaginable. Sadly, help came too late for one of her babies. All the more reason we are so happy that we were able to bring Mama Gloria and her two surviving puppies, Gero and Gismo, to safety. Gloria is an elegant black female dog with a gentle nature. Despite the responsibility for her puppies and the stressful situation in the kill shelter, she showed herself to be friendly, open and affectionate toward the animal welfare workers. She let herself be touched and gladly accepted people's attention. Precisely in a situation where many dog mothers understandably react cautiously or protectively, Gloria has shown what a friendly and balanced character she has. For now, Gloria may first take care of her two remaining puppies and settle down. But she should not be forgotten either. Once she is ready to travel, we hope for her a loving foster home or, even better, a home of her own forever, where she can finally be the center of attention herself. Unfortunately, we do not know what Gloria has experienced in her life so far, so we also cannot say with certainty whether she already knows life in a house. Everyday noises, household appliances or the routines of a family may still be new to her. With patience, understanding and loving companionship, however, she will surely learn step by step what it takes to be a happy family dog. Gloria probably does not yet know being left alone either. After her arrival, she should first be given enough time to settle in, build trust and develop a close bond with her people. Everything else should be worked on gently and at her own pace. For Gloria, we wish for people with heart who will give this brave dog mother a chance at a fresh start. She has lovingly cared for her puppies, and now her time should finally come. A warm bed, loving hands and the certainty that she never has to fight for her life again – that is all we wish for the wonderful Gloria. Gloria is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-screening. Departure possible on 13.11.2026. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can reassess their behavior and development again and again. These personal impressions help us greatly to convey as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog may show itself differently in a new environment – with new people, new routines and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of any process of change. Many dogs even open up more quickly at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter at all. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but they are not a guarantee for every behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced that with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

About Gloria

What life with Gloria looks like

Gloria is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gloria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gloria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gloria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gloria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gloria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gloria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gloria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
