Adopt Glubschi

Unknown · Adult · 5 years

Glubschi is a Leopardgecko who came to the animal shelter following an official inspection and is now seeking a new home with experienced reptile keepers. The little guy is currently having issues with one eye and requires regular eye ointment – happily, he submits to treatment very bravely. There is good hope at present that the eye can be stabilized and maintained with consistent therapy. However, it must be expected that in the long term, surgical removal might be necessary if the condition worsens. Prospective owners should be aware that Glubschi may still require veterinary care in the future. We are looking for a knowledgeable single enclosure in an appropriately set-up terrarium with suitable temperatures, UV provision, and retreat options for Glubschi. Despite his small health hiccup, he is an engaging and lovable pet who can still enjoy many beautiful years ahead with the right care.

About Glubschi

What life with Glubschi looks like

Glubschi is a adult animal waiting at Tierheim Linz in Linz.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Glubschi far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Glubschi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Glubschi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Linz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Glubschi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Glubschi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Linz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Glubschi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Glubschi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Linz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Glubschi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
